Hey Finnish Line,
I ordered my cd last Friday and got it yesterday.5 days,Willy is the man. From L.A to Stockholm in 5 days, that´s good.I´ve only listened to it two times so far so i will post my review later.I really like most of the songs so far and the packaging is GREAT.I just whish that all the quoted famous guitarists like Vai,Wyld,Friedman..etc.. would have contributed with a song as well.I´ll be back later with my review.
This one is for you Willy :smootch

That's good, because I was about to ask some friends to visit my place anyway. Now I can play them some mean Marino tributi if it makes it on time here... And later in the evening we go to see Ageness, who are playing Rush. They're great Finnish prog rock band. http://ageness.palasokeri.com/

I got mine today, it took excatly one week to get here! Pretty fast delivery all the way to Finland. Thanks Willy and thanks Postal Service!Ze Finnish Line wrote:I wonder how many weeks it will take to reach the coast of Finland...![]()
I'm listening to it right now for the first time and the first three tracks ('Try For Freedom' by George Lynch, 'Dragonfly' by Karl Cochran and 'Stay With Me' by John Norum) sound absolutely great. 'Stay With Me' is one of my all time Frank favourites so it's nice to hear John Norum doing justice for this 'ultra cool psychedelic astro blues song'.
I'll tell you more about it when i get to the end of the album.
PS. Great art work too!

Hats off to WW and everyone involved. The packaging and graphics/artwork are second to none. First class all the way, right down to the disc itself, which is made to look like black vinyl 45 rpm. Even textured on topside- too cool!
I'll have to give it a few more spins b4 a fair review, but after 2 listens He's Calling by Jennifer Batten is really cool. Also dug Poppy by Rick Ray,
nice touch with the sax on that one.
In the past I haven't really listened to other tributes I've purchased, like Rush or VH, although the Rev. Brahms cover of Eruption on his church organ was pretty cool. However, there is something to be said for the artist to not exactly cover the tune note for note but to put their own stamp on it. I was just blown away at the quotes listed. Not sure how Frank feels about the flattery, but what a testament! How 'bout a G3 type of thing?!? Thanks WW! :headbanger Well worth the dough.

Well one thing this CD made me realize just how much Franks
vocals fit his music ,
I don't think a blow by blow review is neccissary here ,
just a couple things
These are the songs I thought were exceptionally well done
Stay with me
Poppy , not many non players realize how hard this is to play (I was
suprised , Rick is actually very good )
Babylon revisited
World anthem , Byrds the man ......
The best part from "Its begun to rain" was left out? the little jazz interlude
at the end really makes the song ,
"He's calling" I didn't like it at all , thats JMO
Over all , It was a grand effort by all the players and Willy ,
I'm sure I will listen to it many more times
Most of these cuts stand on there own but they are no substitute for
the real thing ,
Thanks Willy ........you did a really good job
