Hey, Double! Awesome pics and review of the show :!:
I'm RealHappy for all the Franksters in the U of K who
finally got to experience the magic.
Regarding the DVD project, I have wondered in the past
if Frank was keen on doing it. I'm kinda sad that he sees
it as an obligation- that puts a negative tone to it. Frank-
if you happen to read this- the dream for many if not all
of us is to see/experience your live show. The next best
thing is to get that same feeling through the only medium
which can deliver it- DVD. Third would be the audio recordings.
Now let me emphasise how excited we all are about the re-releases!
We're gonna get 'em and wear 'em out, that's for sure!
I can only speak for myself concerning this subject, but I can
tell you one thing; my top 6 or 8 dvd's get watched over and over!!
When I get the itch for a show and just can't get out there, I just pop
one of these dudes in the old player and *BANG* I am there!!!
Can you imagine how many more people one could introduce
to Frank's music via a DVD :!: WOW!! Could actually
help promote, not hinder, future tours- IMHO.
Rock on! :headbanger

I share the same sentiments. I have a Queensryche, Journey, Led Zepplin DVD's and they get plenty of play. I believe if people saw Frank's show on DVD they would be more inclined to go see a show live. Its the mystique of "Where is the music going to take you this night Frank?"jamey wrote:Hey, Double! I'm with you on this one, Jamey. I think a DVD would benefit both the fans and Frank.
I own about a hundred music concert DVDs and only a handful of movies on DVD. The concerts are what I watch most. I've been to enough live music shows in the last several decades to know that you can't completely duplicate that at home. However, with a good home theater system, you can have the next best thing to being there - and with a front row seat every time.
If Frank is dead set against it, then that's his decision and we'll all just have to live with it. But if he can bring himself to do it and do it his way, then I think it will be a win-win.
Just my $.02

By the way, this is what we need the DVD for, to watch those great facial expression telling us your stories and painting your picture making your music even more brilliant than it already is. But that's my personal view on the subject.

P.S. Frank didn't really say he was against making a DVD, he just couldn't see the value of most concert registrations in the standard format and he didn't know yet of how to make a DVD to his liking.
